Irwin Mitchell's Peter Morris, from Leeds, completed the London Marathon 2009 in "a very hot" four and a half hours, together with two friends raising £6,000 for Headway, the Brain Injury Association.
Since joining Irwin Mitchell as a family law specialist, Peter has worked on behalf of a number of clients who have sustained brain injuries, either through accidents at work, road traffic accidents, sporting injuries or serving with HM Armed Forces. Peter said "As a family lawyer I have seen that brain injuries have devastating consequences and often lead to relationship breakdown. I would like to support a charity which makes a real difference."
Peter, pictured here (centre) with his co-runners Steve Loseby of Zertex Ltd (left) and Simon Capper, director with Sheffield United (on the right), subjected himself to a harsh training regime over 4 months. "A few things started to creak as a result, knees, marriage, etc but I just about kept it all together".
Commenting on the picture Peter added: "The photo was taken at the start. We all looked a lot worse at the end. Simon and I ran together in four hours thirty nine minutes. Steve ran it in the unbelievable time of three hours twenty three minutes. It was the first marathon for all of us."
Well done Peter!
