About Elaine's Role
I am Supervising Partner for the Insurance and Personal Injury Departments in Scotland.
I have significant expertise relating to the following:
- Road traffic accidents
- Workplace accidents
- Asbestos Related Disease work
- Serious Injury including neurotrauma and child injury
- Birth Injuries and Medical Law
- Military Law
I am the Scottish representative for Headway, the Spinal Injury Association and the Child Brain Injury Trust.
I also sit on national groups for the following:
- Spinal Cord Injury including Neurotrauma and Acquired Brain Injury
- Children's Serious Injury Group
- Serious Injury including amputee, road traffic collision and equestrian group
As Supervising Partner I have an avid interest in development of quality business and service.

Community and charity work
I am the Scottish representative for the Spinal Injuries Association for Scotland and Headway.
Within our office in Scotland we have assisted the Headway Group with a munro climb up Scotland's most northerly munro and raised funds for them. In addition we have also had teams who have run the Scottish Great Run for Headway and the Queen Elizabeth Spinal Unit at the Southern General.
Our Scottish office assisted 8 special needs schools with the production and marketing of a charity CD.
Erskine is our nominated charity of the year and we have done fundraising work with them including the Great Scottish run.
Irwin Mitchell's Personal Injury team has recently been appointed to Headway Scotland's Directory of recommended solicitors firms for their work with clients who have suffered a head injury.
Spare time and hobbies
I like to work with charitable institutions to assist with fundraising. I also like to spend time with my family.
