"Working for clients who have experienced the trauma of a head or brain injury has been my life's work. The opportunity I have to help clients is fulfilling and inspires me to teach others in the team; in passing on my experience I find we can help more people to rebuild their lives after injury."
About Grahame's role
I head a very talented national group of over 80 specialists - legal professional staff who provide expert services for clients who have suffered neurological trauma. I aim to ensure we provide a truly outstanding service. This means not only recovering maximum compensation for clients, but importantly, helping them and their families in practical ways to access rehabilitation and to improve their quality of life.
Charity and community work
I have a strong relationship with Headway and other smaller charities. I have been a member of Headway since 1985 and have helped numerous groups over the past 24 years - most recently the formation of the new Liverpool group.
Memberships and professional organisations
Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL); Law Society. I represent APIL on the Ogden working Party which guides the profession on the correct way to evaluate high value claims by use of actuarial tables published by the Government Actuary.
Major cases of mention
Nicholas Almond v Leeds Western Health Authority (1990) - the first award of damages exceeding £1 million for a child in the UK.
Spare time and hobbies
Sports - I try hard to keep improving my tennis and to keep fit. I also enjoy cooking when I have time. I love mountains and take my holidays in the French Alps whenever I get chance to have a few days away.
