"I have specialist knowledge and experience of dealing with the criminal injury compensation authority CICA. I am passionate about safeguarding the welfare of client's who have been traumatised by serious incidents as a result of criminal acts. I am able to connect with clients who would ordinarily be reluctant to trust people and I subsequently often receive up dates from client's telling me about their progress even after their claims have settled."
About Caroline's role
My day to day work involves working predominantly with people who have sustained injuries as a result of assaults. My particular interest is in working with client's who have sustained brain injuries; however, I also deal with clients who have suffered physical and sexual abuse.
Charity and community work
In 2006, I became a 'Graduate' for the road safety charity BRAKE and have delivered safe driving training to young drivers in my local area. I am also regularly involved in fundraising events for charities such as Headway, Neurocare and BRAKE.

Cases of mention
Fairbanks; the case involved an application for compensation to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA). The case was referred to us at the Appeal stage as our client's case had been rejected on 2 occasions by the CICA. The CICA refused to accept that our client's very severe brain injury had been caused as a result of an assault. Our client was found unconscious on a public footpath and at an appeal hearing, we successfully argued that the injuries could not have been caused as a result of a fall or a collision with a vehicle and the only possible cause was an assault. Our client will now be able to secure substantial damages.
Spare time and hobbies
Fitness and plenty of it! I teach kickboxing/karate to children and adults (age 4 upwards) and I also take part in several training sessions myself. I like to ride my horse and get out walking in the hills at weekends, with climbing the odd mountain thrown in for good measure!
