At Irwin Mitchell we apply a team approach to cases which enables us to provide our clients with the highest quality of legal advice and support. I am proud to be part of this dynamic team.
About Hema's role
As a member of the Neurotrauma team I represent adults and children who have sustained serious head and spinal injures. My role is to ensure that I obtain the maximum award of damages possible in order to restore quality of life for my clients.
I have been involved in pursing actions against a variety of Defendants including the Home Office and the Ministry of Defence.
Charity and community work
I am an active committee member of Headway Bradford. My role as a Headway member involves providing support to carers and brain injured individuals, attending various meetings with the primary care trust, social services and the local council in order to review and consider improvements in the current brain injury services in the region.
I also attend and have been involved in various charity events in the region. I recently organised a charity ball where we raised £12,000 for Hannah House a respite home for severely disabled children.
Memberships and professional organisations
I am a member the Yorkshire Acquired Brain Injury Forum (YABIF). I am one of the original members of the group who was involved in setting up this forum. I am also a member of UKABIF.
I am a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
Cases of mention
I have been involved in many cases over the years and assisted in recovering millions of pounds for clients. Often there are complex issues and decisions that need to be considered and clients need to be carefully guided through this process.
Spare time and hobbies
I like to make the most of my spare time. I enjoy spending time with family and friends usually eating and talking lots! Keep fit and holidays are also a must to help to re-charge the batteries!
