About Kate's role
I work as a paralegal in the Newcastle Neurotrauma Team. I work closely with clients and families who have experienced traumatic brain injuries. I have an in-depth understanding of brain injury and how it affects each of our clients in their personal circumstances. I always make sure that I spend time to understand the particular needs of clients and to communicate with them in an open, clear and honest way.
Recently, I worked with other members of my team to secure a 7 figure settlement for a client who was left with a 10 minute memory after a brain haemorrhage was mis-diagnosed. Although this money will not replace what our client has lost, it will enable her to receive round the clock care from skilled carers and to regain as much quality of life as possible. Seeing how such settlements change our clients’ lives is very rewarding.
Charity & community work
I am a member of Irwin Mitchell’s Charity Committee which fundraises for both local and national charity. I am also involved with Headway Newcastle and North Tyneside.

Spare time & hobbies
Spending time with my family is very important to me. I also enjoy reading, spending time with friends and travelling. I love spending time outdoors, especially in the countryside.
