An evening for women who work in brain injury

Have you ever felt like you were not wanted? Last week my crew here in Sheffield hosted an evening for women who work in the brain injury field – attracting medics, volunteers, rehab therapists, community workers and the like.

Apparently, it was a great event, not that I would know being of the male variety and strictly banned. Even my appearance at the venue an hour earlier to check the arrangements was greeted with frowns that read “you shouldn’t be here, boss”. Anyway, many thanks to counsellor Karen who was reportedly a fantastic host(ess). The women in brain injury were so glad of their own man-free space that they’ve apparently already started planning the next one! I won’t be going.

Welcome to The Head Injury Site blog, where you’ll find our comments, and hopefully pearls of wisdom, on the issues of the day of interest to people who have either experienced head injury in person or, like my colleagues here, work with, support, care for or campaign on behalf of those affected.
