Irwin Mitchell’s Head Injury Team takes Top Rehabilitation Award

23/07/2010

For the third year running, Irwin Mitchell has taken the award for “Rehabilitation Initiative of the Year – Claimant Solicitor” at a ceremony in London on 29th June 2010.

Louise Jenkins (pictured, receiving the award) attended having received recognition for her first class work with one of her clients who suffered traumatic brain injury after a road collision. The Awards highlight the pioneering efforts of businesses and people who support the role of rehabilitation for individuals who have been severely injured.

Neil Whiteley, Partner in the Brain Injury team at Irwin Mitchell in Sheffield, said: "Rehabilitation is at the forefront of everything we do for our clients - we all strive to ensure they receive the very best levels of care and rehabilitation.

“The work we do helps victims and their families rebuild their lives from serious injury and, in many cases, funds a lifetime of future care and support and enables them to have the best possible quality of life.

Louise’s client, a 22-year-old graduate with a promising career as a computer software developer ahead of him, sustained life-threatening injuries when his car cut out on the motorway and was hit from behind by another vehicle.

Irwin Mitchell’s brain injury team co-ordinated a comprehensive rehabilitation programme that significantly helped his recovery. After a year in hospital he returned to live with his parents but further rehabilitation and support has enabled him to move into his own home. He is now able to enjoy a wide range of social and leisure activities in the community.
